The Word ‘Woman’ Recorded Through Five Movements Of Lipstick

8.5 x 26.5 x 0.25 in. Mixed Media Sculpture-Installation: lipstick, rice paper, plexiglas, light. This piece addresses the tension between body, language, and representation. I stretch the traditional concept of kissing lips into an act of language and self-affirmation. This piece interrogates whether a woman exists within or outside of language and culture.
