Embracing Impermanence

2002

Art and Design Gallery, The University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS

8ft high x 7ft wide x 10ft deep. Performative Action Drawing. Mixed-media: blue chalk line, graphite, eraser, stencils. Embracing Impermanence is a performative piece consisting on the repetitive act of stenciling words on the wall and erasing them. Thus the eraser crumbs become the raw material with which to make a new stencil on the floor. This action was performed daily at random times throughout the two-week duration of the exhibition.
